The sport of Mixed Martial Arts is constantly gathering new spectators and up coming athletes. I have personally been a fan of the sport for several years however did not attempt to participate until 2011. After seeing photographs of a friend training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing at a local gym, North Jersey Mixed Martial Arts Academy, I wanted to transition from watching the sport, to becoming apart of it. The first night of training, I was welcomed onto the mat by the staff of North Jersey Mixed Martial Arts Academy and I became hooked. The continuous journey I started that day in February has no end in sight. As a United States Marine and Local Police Officer in Sussex County, I have experienced tremendous training and life lessons. As a student of North Jersey Mixed Martial Arts Academy, I continue to experience training in the field of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing that is second to none. The training I receive from the instructors at NJMMAA continues to prepare me for unexpected altercations in the line of duty as well as maintaining a healthy, fast pace lifestyle. Despite working out with weights 4-5 times a week, the workout at NJMMAA is outstanding. As I continue to learn and progress in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I can appreciate the extensive training the instructors at NJMMAA have endured. The instructors are always willing to take the time to make sure the movements are explained and understood by each student. Kickboxing at NJMMAA is high energy and fast paced. Despite the intense workout, experienced instructors are preparing students and adults for self defense, weight lose agendas, amateur, and professional fighting careers. I envision NJMMAA a permit staple in my life. For whatever agenda you choose to have walking through the doors, it will be a life changing one.

North Jersey Mixed Martial Arts Academy did an outstanding clinic for the Hamburg Recreation Commission @ the Hamburg Grammar School. Their were over 40 kids, age ranged from 5 to 10 years old. Garrett Goldsberry & 4 associates ran a very organized program. The children were very excited, entertained & benefited tremendously. The Hamburg Rec.is very appreciative of your organization for a quality event.

I can personally guarantee anyone a great time at North Jersey Mixed Martial Arts Academy. I could sit here and lie to you about how handsome Garrett is, or how he has the best school in New Jersey, but I’m not going to. Plain and simple, Garrett knows what he’s doing. Whether you’re looking for a hobby after school or work, a fun and creative way to lose weight and stay in shape, or are serious in pursuing something more with the sport, this is the place to be. I’ve trained at a few different schools, and NJMMAA is by far one of the best. The mat space is very generous, the instructors are very experienced, and the school carries itself very well. Before I started training, I was right where you are now; I was sitting on the computer trying to figure out how to get started, what the next step was, if it was right for me, and the list goes on. Head on down to NJMMAA and just try their intro program. No obligations, and there’s nothing to lose. Once you start you won’t want to stop, I can promise you that. I wish you all the best of luck, and hopefully I’ll see you on the mat one day.
