Garrett Goldsberry (Chief Instructor)


Garrett started his martial arts training at the age of 5 years old in Okinawan Shorin Ryu Shorikan. Garrett has since expanded his training to other arts such as Muay Thai, Akido, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Through his training he has earned a 2nd degree black belt in Karate Do, a 1st degree black belt in Kobudo under Renshi Gene Corbo, and is currently a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under George Sernack (Renzo Gracie Black belt). As a competitor Garrett has medaled on State, National, and Junior Olympic levels. In addition his students have competed with much success in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/ Submission Grappling competitions. Currently, he is a licensed corner man who manages both amateur and pro MMA fighters. He is a 2008 martial arts consultant for the SCCC criminal jusitce program. And is also working on being the consultant for a couple local police departments.

Dan Arthur (Assistant Instructor)


Dan Arthur started in martial arts at age 11. He is a second degree black belt in Isshin-Ryu Karate. Dan has held national and world titles in Isshin-ryu karate. He is also a member of the Isshin-ryu hall of fame. Dan started teaching children’s karate classes when he was the young age of 14 years old. In 2008 Dan started his amateur kickboxing career. To date he has an amateur kickboxing record of 2-0 with one win coming by way of TKO. Dan has also earned a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is actively competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing tournaments. You can see Dan on the mats teaching Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu classes.

Tyler Moore


Tyler has been training at North Jersey Mixed Martial Arts since the age of 15. He has trained constantly for almost two years in the arts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and MMA. In this short time, Tyler has competed in many Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments. His accomplishments include 2nd place at Grappler’s Quest (2011); 3rd place at NAGA (2012); double 1st place in Gi and No-Gi at the New York Open (2011); and most recently 1st and 2nd place wins at the First Renzo Gracie Invitational (2012). Tyler has worked very hard and continues to put in the time and effort here at NJMMAA in achieving his rank of Blue Belt. He has consistently shown the strength and heart that it takes to become a well-rounded mixed martial artist. Tyler can be found at NJMMAA teaching our Wednesday “Lil Monstas” kid’s class and the Wednesday Beginner’s Jiu-Jitsu.

Dan Tramontozzi

With over 18 years of experience, Dan started his career at Kittatinny Regional High School where he compiled a 97-17 record in just 3 seasons. He was a 3x KRHS tournament champion, 3x district finalist, 3x region place-winner, 3x all-league and a 2x NJ state place-winner. He helped his team capture 4 state titles and an impressive 72-0 conference record. Dan’s senior year, KRHS was ranked #9 in the country and he finished the year by placing 3rd in the state. He was named male athlete of the month 3x and was announced his team’s MVP in 2005. Dan ended his high school career ranked #15 in the nation at 140lbs and received a scholarship to wrestling D1 at Bloomsburg University where he started for the Huskies his freshman year. He currently holds Kittatinny’s school record for most takedowns in one season with 124 in just 38 matches.
